Overview

I will tell you how you can make a simple efficient Non-Contact Voltage Tester by using transistors. You can make this electronic project or circuit by using simple components or elements and test the presence of AC voltages. You don't need to worry about getting zapped because it is a non-contact voltage tester.

Components Required for Non-Contact Voltage Tester

The following components are required for the generation of Non-Contact Voltage Tester project:

  1. Make an antenna with copper wire
  2. Light-emitting diode [LED]
  3. Transistor BC 547 or any NPN
  4. 3.7v Battery

Friends, In this diagram I am showing you that after making the circuit the circuit looks like this. And if you take close near any voltage carrying wire or any other instrument. The LED will blink or turn ON. The blinking and turning ON of LED proves that the nearer wire or any other instrument contains current.

On the other hand, if Non-Contact Voltage Tester is taken closer to a wire or any other electronic device in which duration that is not conducting current the LED we have used in our circuit remains OFF because there is no detection of voltage occurs.
